Community Golf Tournament

Did you know that 2011 has been the worst year in Texas history for wildfires?  This year our nation has experienced ten Major Disasters where a typical ‘average’ year has only three major disasters.  After this group spoke with their local partners at the Red Cross, it was obvious they must do something to help!

This year SERVPRO of Sherman/Denison hosted a golf tournament to celebrate and thank their valued agents, adjusters, customers and invited the entire community.  Their vision to raise money and awareness for the local Red Cross was met with a huge response!

The tournament was a blast!  They had hole-in-one prizes, the SuperTicket, trip giveaways, a putting contest, games and food, with all donations going to the Texoma Area Chapter of the Red Cross.  At the end of the day they presented a check for $2,800.00 to the Red Cross.

It is tremendous to see an entire community come together to support disaster preparation and recovery.  SERVPRO is passionate about their commitment to the community they serve and plan on continuing this tradition which serves a great cause.

A Memorable Tournament for this Member’s Guest! 

Todd Raines of Dallas, Texas attended a good friend’s Member/Guest Golf Tournament at The Club at Carlton Woods on October 14th.  The foursome began their day on The Fazio Course.  The Fazio Course at Carlton Woods has been recognized as the “Best New Private Course in Texas” and the “#3 Best New Private Course in the U.S.” by Golf Digest.  Located at hole #6 was a hole-in-one contest display, featuring a luxurious 2012 Mercedes-Benz E350 which was provided by the tournament’s Sponsor, Mercedes-Benz of Houston North.  Just moments after the tournament kicked-off, you could hear cheering and screams of excitement coming from the group and surrounding witnesses on hole #6.  Todd Raines took an amazing shot from 165 yards, sinking the ball in the hole.  Todd could not believe his eyes… what a thrill!  Not only did he sink the first shot of the day, but he made this incredible shot on one of the prize holes and won a new Mercedes-Benz!  The news instantly spread around the course.  The buzz of excitement carried throughout the entire day.  You can be sure that the Members of Carlton Woods are looking forward to next year’s event and their guests are hoping to be invited back!  Todd won’t mind the drive down to Houston next year, in his new Mercedes-Benz.
